Typing to Text Messaging Unit.The ABOVO PCD-NP and PCD-P are the main products in a line of communication aids. Both PCD units are light weigh portable units which integrate a 41 key tactile keyboard and a 40 character LCD display into a comfortable easy to use product. The PCD-P unit also has an integrated thermal printer which can provide the user with a permanent print out of the typed text or stored text.

Both units provide a user compete text storage, edit, recall, and user defined message options. Keyboard features such as no key repeat and single key roll over make this unit ideal for individuals with tremor, or persons who make use of single finger typing. The internal rechargeable battery allows for 8 hours of usage without recharging. The 40 character LCD display is easily read and provides a visual means for confirming and editing text input. A simple to use menu driven setup mode allows the user to configure all programmable features to their individual needs.

Other units in the ABOVO product line include a separate wireless remote display which allows viewing of the PCD text up to 15 feet away. The remote display is battery operated and can be charged using a direct connection to the PCD unit or direct charger input.

Two computer keyboard interface units, one for IBM compatible (AT or XT ) computers and one for Macintosh ADB compatible computers, provide a seamless method of data input from the PCD to the computer. Information in the PCD can be uploaded to the computer, without software, into any application program which excepts keyboard entry. The keyboard interface will also allows a PCD to be used as an alternative computer keyboard.

Two types of carrying cases provide the user with a convenient method to transport both PCD and Remote display units.

PCD-P (integrated printer) can be ordered with either Alpha or QWERTY style keyboard layout

PCD-NP (no printer) can be ordered with either Alpha or QWERTY style keyboard layout.
